Limo Hire Essex- History Of Limos

As we all know about the limo hire culture in London is very common, as the luxury and class attached to a limo attracts everyone and being a royal vehicle, every one of us wants to feel the luxury and style of a limo. These limos were once considered to be the vehicle of high class professionals and wealthy businessmen. The history of limos is very interesting; it all began in early 18th century when first chauffeur driven car was made in France. The idea of a limousine comes from the fact to provide the privacy to the couple sitting in the car, and that’s why limos have special cabin for the driver. The actual word "limousines" is derived from the French word "limoges" which is the province in France where it all started. And sooner, the limos got very much advanced and hi-tech with the course of time.

And the limousine which we see today is the most hi-tech and advanced features cars available in world.  The first stretch limousine was developed over eighty years ago in Arkansas in 1928. These limousines were called “big band buses” because they were used to transport famous big band leaders, as well as their entire orchestras and instruments around the United States. Then in the 1930’s limo hire really started to become popular as limousines were used to transport hotel guests to the airport as well as on general sightseeing tours.
